Introduction to Class Blog: We’ll be using this site for teacher-to-student communication as well as student-to-student communication. My goal is to do at least one blog post per week. Generally I will post on Monday and you have until Friday to complete the weekly blog by leaving a comment.
Ground Rules: Before we get started we’ll have to set some ground rules. First of all, all postings to this site must use school appropriate language. When you post, write in complete sentences. Key your first and last name at the end of your post so I know who posted it (all posts are worth points). When commenting on another student’s post, keep your comments non-personal. You can agree or disagree with a comment but refrain from sarcasm and/or put-downs. State your position on the issue at hand and why you feel that way.
Your first post assignment: In a Word document respond to the following. When you are finished, spell-check and proofread - be sure to key your first/last name at the end.
- Have you ever blogged before?
- What do you want to learn in this class?
- Read the following quote and write a paragraph on what this means to you and how you can put this into an action plan.
Quote: The future depends on what we do in the present. - Gandhi.
Now, copy and paste your response as a comment on this blog using the comment link bottom right of this post. Ask if you don't see it.
Set-up a Yahoo Account if you don't already have one. If you are going to use it for only school, you can set your user name as bhs followed by your student ID number.
1. Yes, I have blogged before.
ReplyDelete2. I just want to refresh my memory.
3. “The future depends on what we do in the present”. This means that what we do in our everyday lives affects our future, if we take the wrong road in life our dream’s can crumble before us. Only you can lead yourself on life’s road and it’s all laid out in front of you.
1. Yes, I have blogged before.
ReplyDelete2. I would like to learn how to do different things that I don’t know how to do yet.
3. The quote to me means that to be able to have a good future you need to do things in the present that are good and can really help your future. Getting good grades is an example because if you get good grades, you can get into a good college and get a good job. To put this plan into action you need to try your hardest.

The quote means to me that what you do in the present affects the future. Every day we make decisions that can change our future for better or for worse. You have to make your life what you want it to be and set up your future how you want it.

3. Read the following quote and write a paragraph on what this means to you and how you can put this into an action plan.
This quote, to me, means that what we do right now, affects how the future will turn out. It also means that every little thing that happens can change the future. Kind of like the butterfly affect. I could put this into an action plan by thinking about how it will affect the future before we do the action. Which could create a safer tomorrow and future.

Quote: The future depends on what we do in the present. - Gandhi.
What this quote means to me, is that if you make a wrong action today, you’ll pay for it in the future. If you get fail a lot of classes because you weren’t paying attention, you probably won’t graduate on time. What you do today, affects you in the long run. If I get good grades today, I’ll be more successful in life in the future. Learning is what will give me the knowledge I need for the future. I’ll be better prepared for the future if I work harder now rather than later.

1) No, I have never blogged before.
2) I would like to learn how to go through instructions on how to do something for the internet and understand it. I would also like to learn how to do better at Power Point.
3) The quote means to me that if we make a mistake right now, in the future you can regret it. And any good choices we make, we will be proud of and not regret. The quote also means to me that if we don’t do something that we really want to, we may end up in the future learning that we should have done it

1. Yes, I Have blogged before.
ReplyDelete2. I want to learn how to easily use a computer better and just work on my computer skills.
3. “The future depends on what we do in the present” is saying that everything we do or say now will affect us sooner or later in the future or everything u do will eventually come back to u or affect someone else. So what Gandhi was trying to do was forewarn us about our choices and that we should be careful of the choices we make because you might never know what they may affect. We can put this plan into action by taking the time to think out and plan our decisions before we make them so we can choose the best way of doing things and think ahead and try to foresee what our choice may create or change in our lives. So by doing this we could end up making our lives a lot simpler and easier on us in the long run and that sounds like a great idea.

- This quote means to me that whatever we do now will affect the future. Such as in movies or TV shows when someone goes back in time and do something they haven’t before, then when they go back everything’s different. So if you do something, you can regret it in the future. If you do bad in a math class your freshman year, it will affect you and you may not get into the college you want. You have to think before you act.

1. No, I have not blogged before.
ReplyDelete2. In this class, I would like to learn about different computer skills, and technology. Even though I already know a lot, I would like to learn even more.
3. This quote, to me means that the things we are doing now, with our lives, and with the world, and the government, will effect what happens in the future with those things. For example, if someone chooses to not pay attention In school, and cause trouble, then that could affect their acceptance in college, if they are choosing to go or not, and the job they have, because if they lack education, then they are not going to have a good job in their future. This quote says a lot, in very few words, and is very true, in my perspective.
1. No, I have never blogged before.
ReplyDelete2. In this class, I would like to learn how to learn about different technology, that I didn’t know before.
3. To me, this means that if you want succeed on the future then you need to make sure that the things you do now will benefit you instead of hurt you in the long run. So, to me that means to make sure I do all my school work to the best of my ability, and always do my best in everything that I do.

3. The future depends on what we do in the present. - Gandhi.
This quote to me means that any mistakes or superior things you achieve each day can change what you do tomorrow, the next day, or even five years from now. Like if you were to get in a brawl at school and get suspended, or if you break into a house and go to a juvenile delinquent center that would affect you from passing the grade you’re in or even from graduating. Say you wanted to go to a really good college; they would look at your grades from school, if you’ve been to a juvenile delinquent center, and with that on your record good luck getting into the college you wanted. To make this quote apart of my life I will be sure to get my work done, volunteer or help with whatever I can, not get into trouble and get the best grades possible. I want to be that person who is really successful in life and I think that by doing this I can graduate from high school, go to a college I want to be at, and not be stuck in a rough position and being careful with my actions today will help me with tomorrow and so on.

“The future depends on what we do in the present.” – Gandhi. I believe that Gandhi was trying to say that the things we do in the present guides the things that will happen in the future. Also it is saying that anything we do can alter the future. It’s similar to the butterfly affect. If we make a mistake or a bad choice then we could regret it sooner or later.

My hard work in school now will pay off in the future.

I think what gondhi means is that when you do something wrong in the past you are messing with the future. So if you do something bad then you are going to get i0n trouble because of what you did wrong in the past.
